It is associated with a higher likelihood of developing depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Moreover, prolonged isolation can lead to a weakened immune system, increased inflammation, and a greater risk of cardiovascular disease. The impact of loneliness on overall well-being cannot be overstated.
