Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success.

Story
Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

Months after the explosive events in A Court of Wings and Ruin, Feyre, Rhys, and their companions are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated - scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.

Different but good
I loved the different views and seeing how they settled in after the war.

can't get enough love it
I absolutely can't get enough of this series this book in particular is exactly what you're looking for post to trilogy after a war after everything said and done it's the story of them starting to go back to normal and discovering their own normal it's not all flowers but it's not constant rear and broken it's so real you would think she saw. in a post-war recovery room everyday for months to create it the fact that the characters are coping and growing and they're all handling it in different ways listening to the way that they're all growing up dealing with the trauma of everything from the first three books is absolutely wonderful this is that happy epilogue that you want still has a little bit of darkness the shadows lurking but not enough to ruin the euphoria.
as always highly recommend Maas is the kind of writer that makes you wish you could write.

Still really good (IMO)
I felt like the books got better as they went on, but I wouldn't say this was better than the previous one. Now don't get me wrong, I still absolutely loved this book, but there wasn't nearly as much action, and it was much shorter. That being said, I felt there was a great amount of character development, and I'm now itching to hear Nessta's story, whereas before I was mainly indifferent towards her. Cass and Az showed a bit more of themselves, and we got to see another part of Rhys and Feyre, while having the heartwarming moments that come along with a christmas type story. Many people rated this book poorly, and I expected much worse because of it, but I'm delighted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I'm looking forward to starting the next one.

Just a Christmas (solstice special)
I had to force myself to finish because I paid for it.
Not satisfying at all! I really enjoyed the previous books but this one was so blah
No ends tied up it literally felt like a Christmas special tv show
It was all about shopping and finding the right gift
Blah blah save your time and money

Loved this series but could have done without this instalment
Loved this store so much- I saw this was 3.1 (and not book 4)... I see it’s because it wasn’t truly a complete story like the other books. The other books had clear story lines with great twists and turns- this seemed like it was written just because. It doesn’t really have a story line- it’s kind of a soft update on the characters. No climax and they don’t find themselves in any trouble. Overall, coulda done without spending the $22 on this instalment.

That's It?
Maybe it is my own fault for not noticing how short this book is but basically nothing important happens in this addition whatsoever. Thankfully I can return it because I genuinely feel like it was a waste of a credit. The story is a good continuation in the series but there is literally no action at all.
