Description

unique story
the story has a really neat perspective its told from and I enjoyed the world portrayed as it reminds me of an anime I like

ANTS!
I loved this story, hardly a dull moment. I wish there were more.You may like this if you enjoy power armor, and humans being torn apart by alien creatures. 👍

Couldn’t finish

Not as good the second time around
I originally read this book as a teen and was excited when I saw it in the selections for Audible. Whether due to maturing tastes or many other possible reasons it wasn’t as good as the first time I read it. Any part that involved Felix was fast paced and exciting, the part of the book that takes place 4 years later was slow and I found almost too long to get through. Enjoyable though.

Excellent performance of an excellent book.
I've had the original paper copy of this book since 88. I love to pull it out every 5 to 10 years to read it, but it's getting worn. Now I can listen any time I want!

Reduce Bass Before Listening
I’m not sure if it’s the naturally low frequency of the narrator or that a sound editor manipulated the voice but oh boy is it inconsistent audio. It would be fine if this were a voice actor in a game spouting out their exposition and then moving on with the story but in an audiobook format the consistent battering of Bass my ears are taking is a real issue.
Just be wary that although the story seems interesting I couldn’t finish it as the bass (even when I adjusted the audio manually) was enough to give a headache after several attempts to continue listening to the book. Recommend NOT listening with headphones or earbuds. As I listen to audiobooks while working my job supporting low functioning autistic individuals I found this one just wasn’t for me.

Amazing Story
I have read this novel or listened to this audio book at least 3 times a piece and every time it is so enjoyable. Action, humor and heartbreaking in equal shares.

One of my favorite novels.
Great characters. Excellent narrator. Fun story. What more could you ask for in a book? The story never slides into the generic groove that these novels get stuck in. ARMOR AND ANTS! Do yourself a favor (if you like this genre) and give this one a chance. I have three copies and have listened to the audio format multiple times.
