Story
On New Year's Eve, Rhys Lloyd has a house full of guests. His vacation homes on Mirror Lake are a success, and he's generously invited the village to drink champagne with their wealthy new neighbors. But by midnight, Rhys will be floating dead in the freezing waters of the lake. On New Year's Day, Ffion Morgan has a village full of suspects. The tiny community is her home, so the suspects are her neighbors, friends and family—and Ffion has her own secrets to protect. With a lie uncovered at every turn, soon the question isn't who wanted Rhys dead . . . but who finally killed him.

Every morning and evening, Zoe Walker takes the same route to the train station, waits at a certain place on the platform, finds her favorite spot in the car, never suspecting that someone is watching her. It all starts with a classified ad. During her commute home one night, while glancing through her local paper, Zoe sees her own face staring back at her - a grainy photo along with a phone number and a listing for a website called FindTheOne.com.

Story
Melville Heights is one of the nicest neighborhoods in Bristol, England. It’s the sort of place where doctors and lawyers and old-money academics live. It’s not the sort of place where people get stabbed in the back 30 times with a kitchen knife in their own homes. Someone must have seen something. Newlywed Joey Mullen, for example, recently returned from four years of working in Ibiza. She and her husband, Alfie, are eager to find a place of their own in her hometown. But Joey finds herself distracted by the man next door, Tom Fitzwilliam.

Publisher's Summary
The next blockbuster thriller for those who loved The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl.... A novel with "an astonishing intensity that drags you in and never - ever - lets you go" (Daily Mail, UK).
On a rainy afternoon, a mother's life is shattered as her son slips from her grip and runs into the street....
I Let You Go follows Jenna Gray as she moves to a ramshackle cottage on the remote Welsh coast, trying to escape the memory of the car accident that plays again and again in her mind and desperate to heal from the loss of her child and the rest of her painful past.
At the same time, the novel tracks the pair of Bristol police investigators trying to get to the bottom of this hit-and-run. As they chase down one hopeless lead after another, they find themselves as drawn to each other as they are to the frustrating, twist-filled case before them.
Elizabeth Haynes, author of Into the Darkest Corner, says, "I read I Let You Go in two sittings; it made me cry (at least twice), made me gasp out loud (once), and above all made me wish I'd written it...a stellar achievement."
What the critics say
"Chilling, compelling, and compassionate." (Paula Hawkins, number one New York Times best-selling author of The Girl on the Train)
"Astonishingly good." (Lee Child, number one New York Times best-selling author of Make Me)
"Genuinely shocking.... [A] cunning psychological thriller." (Marilyn Stasio, The New York Times Book Review)

I loved this book..
This book had me completely enthralled in every word. Horrifying and captivating I could see every word perfectly as though a movie played in my head. Clare Macintosh has sped her way up the top of my fave writers list with this mind blowing book.
Amazing.

Great job
gosh, I laughed at Ian. what a tool! lol the narrator for it did an amazing job. I found from chapter 2 to 20 the story was very flat! nothing was happening. maybe it could be been a shorter story. From chapter 22, I couldn't stop listening to it. I'm glad o didnt give up.

not a murder mystery more like a semi true crime
The 1st half of this book had me wondering what type of novel I was listening to. I considered not finishing it. The 2nd half got better as it dealt more with the crime from the aspect of the 3 main characters. The performers were very good but all in all a fairly predictable plot that left several of the story lines incomplete and included a couple of key storyline flaws/ inconsistencies.

Weak plot with too many side plots.
I really thought this was a very simple book with a multitude of cliches. “ I’ve had better days” is what Jenna says after her beating. The bully plot re: Ray’s son was there but never developed and the relationship between Ray and Kate was weak. U was very disappointed in this book and only read it because it was a book club choice.
