Story
One of my dad’s favorite jokes about getting older was: “I went out for coffee when I was twenty-one and when I got back I was fifty-eight!” I get what he meant now. Time flies. My first book, If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a "B" Movie Actor, was published back in 2001 and it chronicles the adventures of a “mid-grade, kind of hammy actor" (my words), cutting his teeth on exploitation movies far removed from mainstream Hollywood. This next book, an “Act II” if you will, could be considered my “maturing years” in show business, when I began to say “no” more often and gravitated toward self-generated material. Taking stock in the overall quality of my life, I fled Los Angeles and moved to a remote part of Oregon to renew, regroup and reload. If that sounds tame, the journey from Evil Dead to Spider-Man to Burn Notice was long, with plenty of adventures/mishaps along the way. I never pictured myself hovering above Baghdad in a Blackhawk helicopter, facing a pack of wild dogs in Bulgaria, or playing an aging Elvis Presley with cancer on his penis - how can you predict this stuff? The sheer lunacy of show business is part of the fun for me and I hope you'll come along for the ride.

Audio is a unique medium. It invites listeners to become a part of the process, to interpret what they hear, however they'd like; whereas motion pictures leave no such room for input. With the completion of this book, it dawned on me that, as an actor by trade, I could play the part; and I'm knee-deep in actor pals - why not record the book like a radio play? So that's exactly what happened. I rounded up an excellent troupe of thespians, from both Los Angeles and my home state of Oregon, and we recorded what was to become this epic listen for you to hear!

Story
In American on Purpose, Craig Ferguson delivers a moving and achingly funny memoir of living the American dream as he journeys from the mean streets of Glasgow, Scotland, to the comedic promised land of Hollywood. Along the way, he stumbles through several attempts to make his mark - as a punk rock musician, a construction worker, a bouncer, and, tragically, a modern dancer.

Story
In a country torn between left and right, two politicians are about to make history. How? By working together! In a nutshell, that’s the premise of this book. House Divided is a political satire, but it’s really a political fantasy, because it takes two opposing candidates, who wouldn’t normally be caught dead together, and challenges them to spend a weekend in the remote Oregon desert - hiking together, camping together, even getting wasted together!

Publisher's Summary
I wanted to write another book, but I had already yammered on about myself in two previous autobiographies, so it was time to mix things up.
The Cool Side of My Pillow is a collection of essays. Don’t let that fancy word fool you. I’m not trying to get highbrow or rant myself blue, but there are experiences and observations outside of the entertainment industry that I feel are worth sharing.
What’s it about? Mostly, things that matter to me, like putting in the effort, being honest, and not treating the environment like it’s the enemy. Is it self-help? I hope not, but you will find musings about fame, mysterious carvings, UFOs, and my general disdain of loud noises. Is it political? If it is, I’ll refund your money. There are no conspiracy theories in The Cool Side of My Pillow, just snarky humor and a sincere desire for us all to find peace on Earth.
I hope you like this book. It’s my first effort at “self-publishing”, so there won’t be any national book tour, marketing blitz, or glowing reviews to get your attention – just me throwing it out to the “Inter-webs” and hoping you’ll find it.
Regards,
Bruce Campbell

More great Bruce Campbell.
Bruce Campbell tells us more personal stories as only he can tell them. The only thing I didn't like about this audiobook is that it wasn't longer. Give me more Bruce Campbell talking about Bruce Campbell.

Pretty Cool
I really enjoyed listening to Bruce Campbell's random anecdotes and musings on life. I found the chapters about his children successes/challenges, forest managers and covid particularly interesting. The only real complaint I have is that it was too short. Overall though it was very enjoyable, I'm definitely more likely to read/listen to his other books now, for sure.

As refreshing as the cool side of your pillow!
Always enjoyable to listen to Bruce crack wise about celebrity life, rural living and remembering the days when he was just starting out. No spoilers, bt you will particularly enjoy Chapter 14, what he knows about politics.

More Bruce goodness.
The audiobook is presented well and while covering some darker subject matter is quite entertaining. The only complaint I can come up with is that it’s over all too soon much like a really fun carnival ride. The price is nice and if you have an interest in Bruce Campbell’s observations on life and other subject matter check it out.

Love Bruce; engaging storytelling
Like previous autobiographies, he writes about the lesser-known aspects of fame and regular life in equal stride.
He even throws in some well-researched bits about forest management, which while a bit different is nevertheless interesting.
I only wish it were longer.

In the best way possible! Great storytelling from the legend. Bruce is wonderful in narrating and it feels like he’s telling campfire stories.
