Publisher's Summary

A new world. A thousand threats. Welcome to The Continent.

Felix's life on Earth had become a series of dead-end jobs, ruined relationships, and rotating apartments smaller than most postage stamps. By all accounts, even his own, he was a coward. Too afraid to move forward, to take risks. Yet when given the chance to choose between risking his life or walking away from a deadly encounter, he didn't hesitate.

Moments before his untimely demise, Felix was snatched from earth and thrust into a magical world known only as "The Continent". Empowered by the "System", he learns that he can strengthen himself through combat and dedication. To survive, he'll have to push himself beyond his limits, or else fall to the monsters all around him.

Levels, stats, and magic. Death is the start of a terrible fate, but if he lives...no one knows what he will become.

Happy to have found a new series

This book overall is great. I was engaged throughout the story. I have fallen away from other series after a couple of books but kind of knew from the start that I would. This one shows promise and I’m excited to start the next book!

Amazing balance of detail and progression

Writing a review for anyone who happens on the series. Read all books so far except recent one and they are all amazing. Highly recommend and would say it’s worth your credits. One of my fav litrpg series so far on here

Checks most of the boxes

Pretty standard for a Lit rpg. As usual getting through the begining is the tough part because weve all heard it before. Its GOOD. Like a fusion between "He who fights with mosters" and "Defiance of the fall". But where as those books have things that make them unique like a overly eccentric MC or crazy world building this book kinda falls short. Nothing too bad to point out other than the unimaginative cursing but nothing too unique and impressive either. But the crazy ending was good enough for me to want to look out for the sequel. I won't be in a rush to get it but i probably will.

Travis Baldree usually doesn't miss but his guttural monster voice was a bit much this book could barely understand him.

Didn't regret the credit.

One of the best litrpg books l have read

I was surprised by how well written the book was. the main character is interesting and plot is great other characters are also cool . battles are great and no dull moment at all! not dealing with boring Persona stuff or over explained Mana.

That was great!

Great adventure. Lot of exploration and lore. Interesting characters but there could be more development. Interesting world mechanics, not too complex and there is some originality. I like that the main character is not overly powerful. Skill and stats sheet reading is not overwelming as the narator only tells the useful information without too much repetition. That's a huge plus for me. M. Baldree is one of my favourites narators and his experience realy shows with this book. The book was well writen too.

It's not perfect. Cultivation sometimes feels rushed. He struggles a lot. Combats can be repetitive and everytime there's a pitfall, he overcomes it with a skill breaktrough or a level up or something like that. So sometimes it is too predictable.

While it was not a masterpiece, I enjoyed this book very much. Enought to give it a perfect score. Thanks.

Great Story and Performance, Finally another larger series to get into.

I started this genre with He Who Fights with Monsters and found it difficult go get into another series. Many times I have not been able to get into the next book of a series for both the writing and the voice performances.

The story is great, and has a similar feel to He Who Fights with Monsters. I'm only one book in but expect this to become one of the top 5 on my list.

Highly recommend!

good start.

Honestly started this series because of the Narrator, Travis Baldree. I just finished "Vault", currently last book available right now, and am waiting for next month for the next book in the series.
I binged all the books and got into it. there's suttle cultural references in each book like a "blue flower with red thorns" but is passed over quickly and added in casually which always made me smile when catching the couple references in each book.
all you want to know ... is it worth it?
in my opinion, yes. it's worth the first book and if you like the first one, you'll like them all.
