Publisher's Summary

The proposal was simple: Score a home run and take my virginity.

Except my proposal went to the wrong brother.

It was supposed to go to my best friend, but as fate would have it, it fell into the hands of his infuriatingly hot, irritatingly charming older brother.

Lane Collins is Orleans University's All-Star baseball captain. Cocky pitcher. Player on and off the field. The life of every party.

And the same guy I've crushed on in secret since we were kids.

He's always been out of my league. That is until he signs the dotted line on a proposal that wasn't meant for him and offers to teach me—everything.

The one and only condition? We walk away once everything's checked off.

Easier said than done when my heart is involved.

Now, it's a whole new ballgame.

Oooh, she's spiiiicy.

Overall this book was good, but it felt a little been there, done that? Like there wasn't anything about it that made the story particularly unique or stand out in my mind.

Lots of mutual pining
Virgin FMC
Sexy lessons
Very spicy
Best friend's brother
Baseball player x nerdy girl
College romance
Third act breakup for like 8 hours
Dual pov

So I listened to the audiobook and I've said this before, but this one reinforced it for me... I'm not a fan of Alex Kydd's narration style. He adds in a lot of giggles and chuckles that don't sound natural the way they're supposed to. They make the story telling sound less believable and it often pulls me out of the story. I find there are moments where it works but more frequently he is just making the characters sound like bimbos and himbos, but not in a good way.

As for the story, I didn't mind it, it was pretty low stakes. The best friend was totally fine with them hooking up so there was zero tension there. The entire plot was him working up to taking her virginity and her become comfortable with her sexuality. Which again, that's totally fine. The main points of conflict were that even though he was gearing up to be the first overall draft pick for the MLB, he didn't want to tell his dad he didn't want to be a pro ball player anymore. Hers was she got insecure because saw him talking to another human who happened to be female while over hearing some assholes call her the weird girl.

These are both valid points of conflict, however they were both executed in a way that was lacklustre. These have been written many, many times, but I don't find that they stood out in anyway in this book.
