Publisher's Summary

“In Britney Spears’s memoir, she’s stronger than ever.” —The New York Times

The Woman in Me is a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.

In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.

Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

The Tragedy of True Tyranny in our Times...

I am shocked at some of the details Brittany exposed.
I am surprised how emotional I became at times... and angry ...so many times....at her father & her family, Dianne Sawyer for shaming a young girl...
But most of all, the Papparatzi Bastards...

How people treat others, like Brittany has been treated, is beyond me. I hope they are made to repay every penny they have left that she made them. Some should be publicly apologizing

I really enjoyed this Book.

My daughter and I brought it on our walk with the dog... We had to hear it all and didnt wantvto wait!!!!

it all makes sense, sad sense

poignant and sad, Britany's story of her painful life in and out of the spot light, the control of her career and body and the subjugation to constant criticism.and humiliation . Its both very sad and inspiring. Revisiting her music library now, it feels like it makes so much more sense. The lack of compassion for celebrities as human beings is more real in Britany's story than in any televised interview of any famous person.

Eye-Opening

Really well-written, informative account of Britney's life. From early childhood to recent times, listening to this book has exposed a lot of what she went through and how that shaped the woman that she is. I enjoyed listening to it.

Shocking & Sad

Wow! As a parent i would do anything to protect my children & do whatever i could to make them happy. Britany’s parents are not parents and should be charged for what they have done. I believe the world knew there was something wrong going on in that family unit but I’m not sure to this degree. I hope she can forgive and move on but never allow those people back into her or her children’s lives.

A glimpse into why Britney is the way she is

There is a book I read prior to this book, called, “What Happened To You” by Oprah Winfrey and a child psychologist who specializes in childhood trauma. It circles the idea of instead of saying to someone “What is wrong with you!?” And shifting that to, “What happened to you?” Britney’s memoir tells that tale; of what happened to her, and why she is the way she is. It is a glimpse inside her world as she grew up in a cruel time, with the whole world looking at her. I hope people take the time to read this memoir and grow some compassion and empathy for all this young woman has endured. What a journey. Here’s to her healing era. 5 we’ll deserved, long awaited stars.

Her father should be in jail !

The way she was treated is illegal in my eyes, she was a prisoner !! I feel horrified and so sad for her. Her father is lucky she just obeyed and didn’t fight back. Sending so much love to you Brit and I hope your boys listen / read as well. If you don’t have ptsd I would be amazed. I’m so sorry this all happened to you!

Insightful and vulnerable

Britney’s autobiography is honest and vulnerable. Michelle Williams did an amazing job of bringing that across in her narration.
