About this listen

A moment on the subway platform changes two women’s lives forever - a debut thriller that will take your breath away.

A total stranger on the subway platform whispers, “Take my baby.”

She places her child in your arms. She says your name.

Then she jumps....

In a split second, Morgan Kincaid’s life changes forever. She’s on her way home from work when a mother begs her to take her baby, then places the infant in her arms. Before Morgan can stop her, the distraught mother jumps in front of an oncoming train.

Morgan has never seen this woman before, and she can’t understand what would cause a person to give away her child and take her own life. She also can’t understand how this woman knew her name.

The police take Morgan in for questioning. She soon learns that the woman who jumped was Nicole Markham, prominent CEO of the athletic brand Breathe. She also learns that no witness can corroborate her version of events, which means she’s just become a murder suspect.

To prove her innocence, Morgan frantically retraces the last days of Nicole’s life. Was Nicole a new mother struggling with paranoia or was she in danger? When strange things start happening to Morgan, she suddenly realizes she might be in danger, too.

Woman on the Edge is a pulse-pounding, propulsive thriller about the lengths to which a woman will go to protect her baby - even if that means sacrificing her own life.

Couldn't stop listening

Ok, so I'm conflicted because on one hand, I couldn't stop listening. Throughout the whole book I was making internal predictions and then second guessing myself. I won't spoil anything but I will say my very first assumption that I repeatedly told myself could be the case because it was just too obvious, ended up, yes, being that obvious. However, maybe that was the point?! Because I still enjoyed the book. Lol.

Strong start but underwhelming

I was immediately pulled into the mystery when i first started this book although i did guess about 2 hrs in who the actual culprit was. Maybe im just that good or it was just predictable but strong mystery. I was invested in some of the characters tho somehow, the ending was just underwhelming.

Would recommend!

Overall I really liked this story. I found myself guessing and constantly changing my mind on what was happening. I didn’t see the actual ending coming!

I found myself feeling for Nicole In her last story line especially as it caught up to that day in the subway. I found the characters a little less personable than I usually like, though I can’t really say why.

The narrator was overall fine but her more Whiney voices really were not my favourite to listen to.

Very interesting

This book has an interesting premise. I have a knack for figuring out the ending, but this one escaped me. I very much enjoyed that.

Liked the story but...

I liked it! It keeps you interested throughout but I didn’t like the narrator. It kind of made me cringe at times.

good quick book

i enjoyed the book.i did predicted the ending, but it was still worth the listen. I agree with some of the other reviews about the squeaky voice of the performer during certain sections for the voices of certain characters, but I only really noticed it towards the end. based on the book, I would see the upcoming movie

Thriller

I enjoyed the plot of this novel but the narration was so whiny!!!!! The tone was grating about halfway through.

Compelling mystery, Whiny Read

Good story, but the main characters victim complex was exaggerated and overly emphasized by the performing reader.
