Sam and Clementine have a wonderful, albeit, busy life: they have two little girls, Sam has just started a new dream job, and Clementine, a cellist, is busy preparing for the audition of a lifetime. If there’s anything they can count on, it’s each other. Clementine and Erika are each other’s oldest friends. A single look between them can convey an entire conversation. But theirs is a complicated relationship, so when Erika mentions a last minute invitation to a barbecue with her neighbors, Tiffany and Vid, Clementine and Sam don’t hesitate.

The discovery of a dead infant in an Amish barn shakes Lancaster County to its core. When Ellie Hathaway, a disillusioned big-city attorney, comes to Paradise, Pennsylvania, to defend Katie, two cultures collide - and for the first time in her high-profile career, Ellie faces a system of justice very different from her own.

Description
From Liane Moriarty, author of the number-one New York Times best sellers Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers, comes an unforgettable novel defined by her signature sharp wit, pause-resisting storyline, and lovable and eccentric characters.
A family secret explodes. A first kiss betrays. A mystery is solved. A marriage is tested. It all happens on one extraordinary night - the Last Anniversary!
Sophie Honeywell always wondered if Thomas Gordon was the one who got away. He was the perfect boyfriend, but on the day he was going to propose, she broke his heart. A year later, he married his travel agent, while Sophie has been mortifyingly single ever since. Now, Thomas is back in her life because Sophie has unexpectedly inherited his aunt Connie's house on Scribbly Gum Island - home of the famously unsolved Munro Baby mystery.
Sophie moves onto the island and begins a new life as part of an unconventional family where it seems everyone has a secret. Grace, a beautiful young mother, is feverishly planning a shocking escape from her perfect life. Margie, a frumpy housewife, has made a pact with a stranger, while dreamy Aunt Rose wonders if maybe it's about time she started making her own decisions.
As Sophie's life becomes increasingly complicated, she discovers that sometimes you have to stop waiting around - and come up with your own fairy-tale ending.

The narrator is terrible.
Heather Wilds is an awful narrator. She emphasizes all the wrong words, and sounds like she is half asleep. I wish all of Liane Moriarty’s books were narrated by the brilliant Caroline Lee.

did not enjoy the reader
I love this author, which is why I chose this audiobook. Unfortunately, the reader leaves much to be desired. She reads in a strangely monotone, almost robotic voice. I found this to be very irritating, and in stark contrast to the animated style of Caroline Lee, who reads many of this author's titles.

Amazing Story and Narrator
I read a few of the negative reviews regarding the narrator and, after listening to the sample, decided to buy the book. I loved it! The narrator was engaging and expressive, at least in my opinion. The story kept me interested until the last page, the characters were wonderful (I'm going to miss them) and I actually can still picture the houses on Scribbly Gum Island.

ENTRETAINING WITH A GREAT PERFORMANCE

Disappointing
Have enjoyed most of this authors book but this is the second one I find disappointing. The story is thin in content played by one dimensional characters. Was barely able to finish it but held on hoping for an interesting ending, which ended up being predictable and dull.
