Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Story
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College—Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is—unless she betrays the man she loves.

The Manipulator. I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me. I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh. But my words don't affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave. He's always there, watching and waiting. And I can never look away. Not when I want him to come closer. The Shadow. I didn't mean to fall in love. But now that I have, I can't stay away. I'm mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves. I'll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine. And once she is, I'll never let her go.

Only the extraordinary belong in the kingdom of Ilya—the exceptional, the empowered, the Elites. The powers these Elites have possessed for decades were graciously gifted to them by the Plague, though not all were fortunate enough to both survive the sickness and reap the reward. Those born Ordinary are just that—ordinary. And when the king decreed that all Ordinaries be banished to preserve his Elite society, lacking an ability suddenly became a crime—making Paedyn Gray a felon by fate and a thief by necessity.

after the love build in the second book, this one is a little less thrilling, the story is still good, and I know war gets a lot more dark, but I miss the love building. overall great cast, good story.

This dramatized adaptation is as amazing, gorgeous, and perfect as the one of the second book. 🧡💛💚💙
There is no word to describe how much I love this series. I went through so many emotions while reading it, I laughed out loud, I squealed from excitement, I raged, and I cried. It is truly a magical and fantastic adventure and even though I’ve read it three times already, it’s still as good as the first time. This book is not as good as the perfection that is ACOMAF, but it is very close.
This book owned me, body and soul. It is packed with action, the characters can't seem to catch a break, and neither could I. I was at the edge of my seat for the whole ride, it was torture to put it down because I had to sleep or go to work. It would have been worth it to take a sick day just to continue reading this book and enjoying every single minute of it. The last 100 pages are a real roller-coaster, the action, the stress, the non-stop heart-pounding… It’s an unputdownable book.
Feyre, Rhysand, and their court of dreamers are about to go to war. They need allies and resources, and quickly if they want to have a chance at stopping Hybern’s army who’s ready to tear down the wall to enslave or slaughter everyone. Desperate as they are, their only chance is to try to unite the 7 courts against their common enemy, something that has not been done in thousands of years. No matter how hard they try, the King of Hybern always seems to be two steps ahead, with his army, his apparently limitless powers, and the power of the Cauldron itself.
Feyre and Rhys risk losing everything and everyone they hold dear, but they are both willing to pay the ultimate price to save the ones they love. Among all the action, scheming and politics, they are trying to think about a way to protect their loved ones and to protect each other, their despair and fragile hope are weaved all throughout the book, making me love them even more than I did before.
Sweet, selfless, and perfect Rhys. I love him so much.
I was also very happy to see more of Lucien in this book, but I still think that he deserves so much more! He is amazing and it breaks my heart to see how lonely he is, how he is yearning for a love that seems to be out of his reach. He is trying to figure out where he belongs now that he is not welcome in the Spring Court anymore, and I just wanted to hug him so badly… He’s the best (after Rhys). I really do hope that he gets his book and his well-deserved happy ending.
I also like that we had the chance to see Tamlin as a more complex character in this book, he is still a jerk, but at least he had more depth than in ACOMAF where he was just an overprotective macho willing to do anything to get his perfect groomed bride back. I don’t like him yet, but I was able to connect a little more with him in the second part of this book and to appreciate his character a little more. The same can be said for Nesta, I appreciate her more after reading this book, I had forgotten how much her character changed in this book (in a good way).
I am really obsessed with this series and the characters. Sarah J. Maas mixed so many different personalities in this series, from sweet and emotional, to cold-hearted and creepy, and she has a way to make her characters feel so real. Their actions, thoughts, emotions, and banter, I wish I could be a part of their group.
So I will just try to survive the book hangover that is sure to follow and probably cry some more while thinking about this AMAZING, GREAT, AWESOME, AND UNPUTDOWNABLE series. 😍

Feyre's two-faced facade is deeply enjoyable.
Though I might not love this book as much as I loved the second book in this series, it stood well on its own. Feyre's deception of Tamlin in the beginning had me grinning the entire time, rooting for his inevitable demise, though it is quite interesting the direction the author takes his character in the ensuing pages, and books. I feel that this book set up a lot of points for character growth along the way, and also further established reasoning why Feyre makes such an excellent High Lady of the Night Court. Even though the "super special main character who isn't like other girls" vibe still carries over from the first two novels, it's something I've come to expect from her and am able to work with, as she has genuine weaknesses that aren't excused away by plot convenience, which is deeply refreshing.
Overall, a solid book packed with action and interesting turns.

Sensuously Stuning
Honestly I can’t listen to another audio book quite the same again! Ofc the story is amazing (I’m in love with your stories Sarah Maas), but the actors make it so REAL! Every single one is how I would imagine the characters sounding.
Sit down with your favourite drink, a tray of goodies, and get ready for an amazing time. I always draw or do something while I listen and it’s just the absolute best.

Fun remake!
I’ve read this book several times and this was a fun way to listen. Performances were good, even though I didn’t picture Rhysand sounding like that at all, I got into it after a while. The sultry music behind the romance scenes made things more comical than intended and the sound for Winnowing was more like a cartoon spaceship sound that made me laugh every time!

Slightly disappointed
Loved everything about this dramatization save for its part 1/3 and the other two parts are not available. I feel a bit ripped off and disappointed. The other dramatizations are read as a whole.
