Publisher's Summary
An inventive debut in the tradition of World War Z and The Martian, told in interviews, journal entries, transcripts, and news articles, Sleeping Giants is a literary thriller fueled by a quest for truth - and a fight for control of earthshaking power.
A girl named Rose is riding her new bike near her home in Deadwood, South Dakota, when she falls through the earth. She wakes up at the bottom of a square hole, its walls glowing with intricate carvings. But the firemen who come to save her peer down upon something even stranger: a little girl in the palm of a giant metal hand.
Seventeen years later, the mystery of the bizarre artifact remains unsolved - its origins, architects, and purpose unknown. Its carbon dating defies belief; military reports are redacted; theories are floated, then rejected.
But some can never stop searching for answers.
Rose Franklin is now a highly trained physicist leading a top-secret team to crack the hand's code. And along with her colleagues, she is being interviewed by a nameless interrogator whose power and purview are as enigmatic as the provenance of relic. What's clear is that Rose and her compatriots are on the edge of unraveling history's most perplexing discovery - and figuring out what it portends for humanity. But once the pieces of the puzzle are in place, will the result prove to be an instrument of lasting peace or a weapon of mass destruction?

Can't Wait to See Where This Goes!
I really enjoyed this and think the audiobook highlighted the story overall. The full cast made this story that much better since we got to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions from the nuanced voices of the characters. I felt like a fly on the wall reading this and I loved that!
An interesting mix of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Pacific Rim, with much less science and technology and much more politics. I really enjoyed learning about the giants robots and how they functioned. I do have questions about the "missing" case files since this is spread amongst a number of them, but there are some missing in the sequence.
I know this is a trilogy, but I still wish this had a bit more of a satisfying conclusion. It was a little too open for me. But if you enjoy SciFi and stories told through interviews/transcripts/pieces, then this is for you.

"Sleeping Giants... More like Screaming Giants"
This book is awesome the story is really good and, I don't want to shy away from that, but the cast that voiced this all did such a good job and it made listening to this feel so much more, real/believable i plan on listening to all of these books and hope theychave as big an impact as this one did.

Awesome story, incredibly performed.
when I read that this was full cast recording I was intrigued but I found the story is so well told and so viscerally felt in the voices of the characters coming to life. This was a story I couldnt stop listening to and I think I finished in a day and a half. Well worth my monthly credit!

Perfect format for an Audiobook
I was a little hesitant when I heard it was a multicast production. Thought I would have a hard time keeping track of who was who. But each chapter is essentially a conversation between two people, so it's easy to keep track.
In the end this format lended perfectly as an audio book.
Very fun story would recommend. Definitely in the realm of young adult lit tonally. But still really fun.

A prequel to the apocalypse?
The story gives a really good reason to work together as a planet, or not and reap the consequences. I didn't like the interview style at first but soon was into it! I listened to the whole book while weeding and actually weeded an hour here, an hour there so I could keep listening. At the end I had all sorts of thoughts buzzing around in my mind and then, of course, that multiplied by 100 when I listened to the short but pithy epilogue! So I'm not sure whether to be upset that it was such a cliff-hanger or ecstatic that I have more books to listen to by this author. Well written with very interesting characters and lots of conflict!

Excellent story telling from a unique perspective
This story overall is told from an interesting perspective. It has a narrative without specifically being narrated. I'll let you discover what that means.
Very engaging story. Very unique concept. I forgot that this is the first in a book of three so when I came to the end I was initially disappointed, thinking that there was no more of the story. To my surprise there was more. I'm definitely going to finish this series.

Loved the multi cast and presentation
I really liked how the story was presented. The story unfolded in a series of case files and interviews as though somebody was recalling events of the past from some distant future. The interviewer is left unnamed which leaves a sense of mystery. And the multi cast works well for this presentation style. I'm looking forward to the next books!
The military, alien technology and conspiracy themes all remind me of Stargate for any other fans out there.
