Publisher's Summary

Now a major motion picture starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine.

Solène Marchand, the thirty-nine-year-old owner of an art gallery in Los Angeles, is reluctant to take her daughter, Isabelle, to meet her favorite boy band. But since her divorce, she's more eager than ever to be close to Isabelle. The last thing Solène expects is to make a connection with one of the members of the world-famous August Moon. But Hayes Campbell is clever, winning, confident, and posh, and the attraction is immediate. That he is all of twenty years old further complicates things.

What begins as a series of clandestine trysts quickly evolves into a passionate and genuine relationship. It is a journey that spans continents as Solène and Hayes navigate each other's worlds: from stadium tours to international art fairs to secluded hideaways in Paris and Miami. For Solène, it is a reclaiming of self, as well as a rediscovery of happiness and love. When Solène and Hayes's romance becomes a viral sensation, and both she and her daughter become the target of rabid fans and an insatiable media, Solène must face how her romantic life has impacted the lives of those she cares about most.

Contains mature themes.

I didn't want the story to end...

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and thought Robinne did a great job narrating.
I found near the end, I was truly not wanting the story to be over and stalled in finishing (the rest I zoomed through!). lol
It would be great to think about how the next chapter might have gone...
I did wish there was a little more substance to their relationship but it didn't detract so much as to deter my enjoyment. Definitely recommended listening!

Looking forward to the movie!

The ending...I know that realistically it had to end there but...

TLDR...I liked the book. It had some great bits and some not so great bits. Ending is sad but realistic. I wouldcrecommend.

I am not going to lie. I saw the film first. The movie separated from the book in numerous ways. They made the Hayes character & the Isabelle Character older, while keeping the Selene character the same age. This allowed them to do things in the film that made it more enjoyable in parts, it allowed them to add & subtract from the book bits and pieces that made your heart feel the love storey more (imho). I found some parts of the book rather repetitive & the constant body parts, could have used less of that. I wasn't sure I was reading a romance at some points, it seemed sex was the main plotline of the storey, and not a romantic novel about two people that were so different, but coming together in an unlikely but still compelling love story. The movie set up for a "happy ending" we never get in the novel. (Yes I know the book was written first). In reality the way the book ended was realistic. The 20 year year age gap, with the woman older would never be accepted...which is messed up in so many ways considering if it was the man older it would more likely be accepted. However I am not sure an age gap at that age (him being 20) would be accepted even if the roles were reversed. I do wish she would have maybe done a chapter or two more and do a "5 years later" or "10 years later" them bymbing/meeting again, If not to reunite them, to show that they had movied on and found happiness. The end just seemed so unfinished...was the author trying to set up for a second novel? Where we might seem more? Hard to say. I don't regret the listen and will most likely listen again, but I think in my head I will always like the movie ending better. Even the movie could have smoothed things more. Did he move on, did she move on...where they meeting as friends, or as a fresh start to there love story?
I think the author did make a great story. All books are going to have "I wish the characters did this or that". It's the overall story which makes it a good book or not, not a single chapter or the ending.
Yes, I would recommend.

Age discrimination…

Even without the ‘boy band’ storyline, older women and younger men is so taboo.
An easy listen… great narrator… what we do for our kids!
