Great retelling
This series was so good, book one hooked me right from the start. I love this retelling of Persephone and Hades. I also love that this story was dual voice, when it was Persephone POV it was with a female voice and when it was Hades POV it was male. Lots and lots of different gods. Must say my favorite is Hermes and his banter. A must read series

Tricking Chaos
I LOVED the majority of this book. The growth between hades and Persephone was perfection. I HATED Theseus’ chapters and really felt like it was extremely unnecessary for us to have as much detail as we did for the triggering scenes. Which is why I rated the story 3stars instead of 5.

Disappointing
I’m not sure why I keep reading this series because it’s just been meh. The male reader in this last book was just so terrible making it a very hard listen. I’m normally a fast reader/listener and this last book has taken me weeks to get through because I just find him insufferable.

Dissapointed
I am skipping chapter because the male reader is so attrocious. I wish Meg read it all like she did for the other 3 books. She is doing an absolutely magical job bringing like to so many characters.
If there becomes a version with Meg only reading i'll re-read it.

It was good
I enjoyed the dual narration, I really liked that I didn’t have to purchase another book to hear hades POV. Both narrators are great. I personally prefer the Hades saga to just Persephone’s saga, but the dual narration was the right move.
The story itself felt a little weak, not as much action & when there was is was over fairly quickly, it was a lot of storylines to follow & I’m sure those were tough to keep track of when writing this. It felt like wasted opportunity for some chapters, & characters. But overall it was good, I would definitely say the second book in Her POV was still the more frustrating.
I feel like it did justice to the ending of Hades & Persephone. It ended exactly how I assumed it would. It wasn’t as spectacular as I thought but it was good. It definitely left room for another book or for their continued story in other characters books so that is very hopeful. I am looking forward to a potential Aphrodite & Hephaestus or at least closure to the other characters in more books.
I enjoyed the amount of other characters in this book, it felt refreshing, other than the main villain. I felt like Hades had key POV chapters that were left out, so you were left to figure out strategies and plans from just Persephone POV.
I did not enjoy the Theseus chapters, I don’t think there is anyone who would have thought he was a “nice character”, or he’d have a “ark”. unnecessary amount of detail about a character we already hated from the very beginning. He was a good bad guy, don’t get me wrong, just unnecessary to add the amount of his POV.

Why introduce a new reader!?
I didn’t like the addition of the new reader. I also was not a fan of the triggering scenes, or the ending. The pacing seemed to ramp up steeply right at the end. It almost felt like we were due another book until the last hour!!

Disappointed
I find this one was just thrown together and I felt like Persephone declined in strength. There wasn’t as much action as I thought there’d be not to mention the ending just didn’t explain much to what happens afterword. If there’s a new king or new olympians taking the spots of the ones who fell. It’s just missing a lot I find. I feel disappointed. Part one was good but after that disappointing. Still like it just not love

Why the male narrator???
Honestly, why change it up right for the last book!? The male narrator is so robotic and monotone. He destroyed the spicy parts with his cold and unmoving parts. And I'm sorry, but I believe that if you have dual narration, why is the man still doing the female voices (which all sound the same in this book)? Why couldn't have they had Meg narrate the whole thing, just as she has for the past 3 books?
As for the overall story, it wraps up the series well and does not leave you feeling empty and wanting. The trigger warnings at the beginning were kind of a spoiler, but I understand why they should be included.
Overall, the male narrator ruined the entire experience of this book for me. Just ew, icky, and ugh.
If I could have my one credit back, Audible, that'd be great (wishful thinking).
