Publisher's Summary
I'm the heir to an empire, but I left the army as a broken man. A dangerous man.
I should stay clear of her. She's too fragile, too broken herself - and too beautiful to resist. Worst of all: She wants me to take her. But where she seeks solace, I seek sanity.
The Velvet Rooms provide our sanctuary. A place of safety, bliss and unbridled play, untainted by the clamor of reality. Here, there is no sight. There is no sound. Only skin against skin. Testing. Claiming.
Our fondness for the absence of sound and light is what binds us. But it is also the biggest danger lingering between us. Because the madness always finds me. Even in the darkness. And this time it may be too late to stop the beast from destroying everything.
Contains mature themes.

Very Enjoyable Listen
Good story. Kept my attention though I sped up to 1.15 to make up for the narrators pace. Compelling storyline and worth a listen. Will be continuing to the third book.

Better then book 1
I enjoyed book 2 much better than book 1 as the female protagonist was older and seemed more grownup.
Similar to book 1 she didn’t have the best upbringing having bounced around in foster care & the male was also rich (you have to be to get into the establishment) & younger then most of the other guests who seem to be men in there 50/60’s.
These two had past traumas that they were able to communicate that lead them to have a healthy relationship, where they could play safely together. It was sweet.
