About this listen

No one likes a rebellious captive. I learned that the hard way. I'd been abducted from Earth and cruelly tormented for my fighting spirit until I learned the only thing that would keep me safe is to be sweet and calm and agreeable. It's what keeps me alive.

When I'm rescued by space pirates, they tell me I'm safe. I'm told I can be myself again, get as angry as I want, laugh and cry and scream all I need. I don't believe them, of course. I certainly don't believe Alyvos, the "muscle" of the pirate ship. Everyone says he likes nothing more than a good fight, but to me, he's kind and protective. How can I fear someone who holds me tenderly through the night and has fuzzy skin?

But my pirate wants more from me than I'm ready to give. He wants my fiery spirit...and I'm not sure it's there anymore.

Contains mature themes.

Trigger warning ‼️ Needed

The beginning of this book was so hard to get through because *Trigger warning ⚠️ they came across a ship full of cages of decomposing human female corpses & one that wasn’t dead yet the horrific treatment and living conditions can be difficult to get through*

They killed the orange Aliens who did it and took the one that was alive to their ship to help her. She had her eyes dug out of her skull, a finger & toe cut off as well as other abuse.

Since she can’t see she’s completely reliant one the one big blue alien who took her out of the cage, he opened up to her about war trauma that he’s been living with and they became friends. She sleeps in his bed for comfort and gets comfortable on the ship with the others.

She ends up getting good at listening to the radio for quick jobs they can do, that is until she overhears someone very triggering.

Her mate wants to revenge her but she’s scared for his life and has him choose between her or fighting them. The spice is sweet at the end of the book.
