About this listen

Justin White may not look like an up-and-coming corporate superstar, but his new boss knows that he has the smarts, grit, and determination to succeed. Now he just has to convince his company's CFO, Eli Ovadia. Unfortunately, Justin can't seem to keep his cool around the domineering Eli, and soon he finds himself taking their heat from the boardroom into the bedroom.

Still haunted by a tragic accident that left him with a wounded leg and broken heart, Eli has a need to be in control. But his desire for Justin makes him want to lose that control and push them both far beyond their limits. Will his need to dominate Justin drive him away, or will Eli find a way to be the man he needs for both of them?

A bit of a Rollercoaster of emotions but so worth it. Perfect length and great narration. Definitely a few laughs, some sweet moments, and some very spicy scenes!! I love their hand-picked family!! A wonderful HEA for them both!!

Better than the first in the series

I liked this one better because the character conflicts felt more real and personally driven, rather than by plot or other characters.

As good as the first!

Yes, yes, yes. I like how the story continues with the same characters but with new players. Spice is spicy, and the investment in these characters!

Ugh a dom/sub story

I typically don’t read sub books, and this book adds to the reason. everyone tries to spin their own version of 50 shades....but fail. I wasn’t aware this was a sub book or I would not have chosen it. All sub books I have foolishly started, follow the same outline. Wealthy, older, dom with a young, inexperienced sub who has previously been treated badly, but likes pain and being submissive, so the authors come up with crazy ways for the dom to “punish” the sub but make the sub sassy so they are practically always being punished, but love it, or they go the opposite and make the sub be 24/7 super weak, always shaking from fear and desire and “yes master” or “yes sir” ??? ...this book followed the 1st outline, but tries to introduce hardship and trauma for the sub, but did it unsuccessfully as everything felt completely avoidable. I started skipping chapters in huge leaps.

I don’t even understand the subs breakdown and then wanting to resign. It would be understandable if the sub fell into the same trap unbeknownst to himself but in this situation each step of the way he’s comparing it to his past relationship and seeing the similarities but doing nothing to change it. Not communicating and just making assumptions. He doesn’t speak up about his fears , doesn’t change the narrative in any way, it’s like doing the same thing and expecting a different result, meanwhile, the new dom is completely oblivious. If you think all wealthy DOMs are going to treat you like you’re nothing and “own“ you, then don’t go for wealthy doms.

The story tries to create a love story without actually creating a love story. Throughout each chapter a situation will start but not end, next paragraph and it’s a few days or weeks later and one or both are reminiscing about how great it’s been, so though the book is LONG, it drags and there is no connection built between the characters. For instance, they have the first night at the club, then boom, they start dating and then next chapter they are each thinking they are in love with the other. WTH?

I gave it two stars because of Iggy Toma....the narrator.
