About this listen
Skylahr Reed has been nothing more than the outcast for her 22 years and has finally grown to accept it. But when a fever hits the village of Noorde Point, she is the only one who can find the courage to journey past the town’s gates in hopes of finding a cure.
Forced to venture into the unknown lands of Elrin, Skylahr soon discovers every tale she had been told as a child was false. The War of the Gods was not just a myth, and the evil Goddess, the Seductress, and her Crimson Army are well and truly alive.
Thrust into a world of chaos and death, Skylahr is required to make impossible choices and trust those around her, including the dark and dangerous Kalian, a man who always seems to be waiting in the shadows. But what secrets is he hiding, and will Skylahr be able to protect her untouched heart from him?
This is a new adult novel and is for audiences 18+.

Incomplete, inconsistent, frustrating.
The narrator is good, some weird accent choices but it's fine.
The plot is a very basic revenge plot.
The world building isn't explained, the explanation about the religion isn't fully revealed until over halfway through. Most everything that is revealed is revealed in pieces but instead of creating intrigue it just leaves you frustrated. The dynamics of the world aren't flushed out either, it's barely explained how the humans/wolves/elves live together.
The FMC (Skylarh) is mean to almost everyone she meets, she inexplicably trusts people when is suits the plot, she has no consistent motivation especially in regards to her love interest. The FMC also has an annoying/frustrating habit of consistently trying to sacrifice herself, then getting utterly self righteous when people point out how dumb her plans are. She often does very dumb things just to move the plot along and that's just no good.
The LoveInterest isn't much better, he's mean and down right cruel to the FMC but then inexplicably only loves her. This relationship is toxic and not in a hot way. Lots of cringe moments with him too.
Personally, my biggest complaint is that almost no one in this book is nice. Everyone is just trying to get a dig in or say something witty but this supposed to be passed as "being badass" or "cool". I wouldn't want to be friends with anyone in this book much less share a beer with them.
