About this listen
From USA Today best-selling authors W. Winters and Amelia Wilde comes a sinful romance with a touch of dark and angst that will keep you gripping the edge of your seat...and begging for more.
I should have known when I couldn’t keep my eyes off her that this would be a mistake. I was hired to protect her, this woman who’s lost everything, yet there’s an obvious fire that blazes behind her beautiful gaze. She stares back, daring and tempting me. It calls to a side of me that’s darker and longs to tame her.
We both have secrets; we both have a past we’re not ready to face. More than that, we both want to get lost in each other, falling into a forbidden game of control and power. Of submission and dominance.
The moment she agrees to my terms, I know I’ve crossed a line. One of many rules I’m willing to break. No one can know, not a soul, but secrets in the life I lead never last for long.

a bit sad/depressing compared to the Cross Brother
Soooo.... I LOVE the other Merciless Realm storylines but this one is different and not at all captivating like the others. It's good but so far it's just that. The others had me spellbound, this just has me going "Ok". The last 2ish hours were where the "fun" started. the lead up was very long and slow.
I will say that it is nice to have a different world represented but I'm just not sure how I feel about it. I will try to do book 2 but I can't be sure if book 3 will be on the table... I would not recommend this book as an intro to Willow Winters- do read several of her other series (not just books but full trilogies/ duets) before this one because this is a different feel and it may be the co-authorship vibe. Nothing horribly wrong just different. A bit sad/ depressing/ dark if you will.
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
