Can't get into it

This is taking me so long to get my head around the Male characters voice. The female lead is good but the voice for the Male lead reminds me of some 75 year old European dracula like molester or an old fish monger .... I can't picture him as a young vital man. And when the Male voices the female part now she sounds like an European - nothing like the North America accent the female lead has. It is just weird ... can't get into it.
