About this listen

Wrongly imprisoned whistle-blower Rachel Pierce would rather take her chances with her court appeal than accept her place as the first Interstellar Bride destined for the Colony. She’s stubborn and determined to seek justice - and her freedom - on Earth...but her mates are not willing to risk her life or her future on a system they believe to be both primitive and corrupt.

Maxim of Prillon Prime fought 10 long years in the Hive wars. Captured and tortured with his second, Ryston, they escaped only to be rejected by their own people and condemned to life on the Colony with the other “contaminated” cyborg warriors. As leader of Sector 3, it’s Maxim’s duty to set an example for his warriors and summon a bride. When she refuses transport, he can’t allow her rejection to demoralize an entire planet of battle hardened but jaded warriors. Maxim and Ryston transport to Earth, where they decide she’s theirs, and a maximum security human prison will not keep them apart.

Getting Rachel to the Colony is only the first challenge they will face. Convincing their beautiful mate to surrender to not one but two dominant warriors is another. Even if they can win her love, a new evil is rising on the Colony, and someone close to Maxim will be its first victim. Maxim will be its second, unless Rachel’s love and relentless pursuit of the truth prove strong enough to save him.

Interesting and spicy

I love when the female protagonist is a strong female character, even though this one wasn’t a soldier and didn’t have the physical strength she was a scientist 👩‍🔬 and used her smarts to save her mates life!

Originally she didn’t want to leave earth, but after working with a big pharmaceutical company and being a whistleblower she wasn’t even safe in jail as the legal system had failed her and the people she worked for put a hit on her in jail.

Becoming a bride was literally her only choice besides dying.

Luckily after the mystery affliction that her one mate and other warriors on the planet had was solved & she was officially mated. She learned a few months later that her lawyer back on earth was able to finally clear her name and prove her innocence!

It took a while for the spice to really happen as she was but looking for a cure, but things came together in the end.

a good time the Pearlan Warriors are some of my fa

the Pearland Prime Warriors are some of my favorites so I enjoyed this a good deal expanding into more information and politics on the colony was something I was definitely looking forward to and enjoyed hearing however there was something slightly off in the female narrators delivery it was good they were just points where the way she would narrate kind of pulled you from the story almost.
icing was a stylized choice this one is more crass then the other Interstellar bride series books but I think part of that is almost metaphorical the harshness of the situation for those on the colony.

all in all this is a good book if you like the series this is not a bad way to keep living in that universe I'll definitely get the next one in the audiobook form.

ok

I didn't like the male narrators voice much. The story was a bit lacking but the claiming ceramony where they have to have sex in front of people put me off because there was no good reason for it. Saying its part of their culture to show everyone that she is theirs is just plain stupid when they have mating collars that do the same. Saying they like to do it because its kinky is an acceptable reason. The male MC telling her she doesn't have to if she doesn't want to after a big speech about how important it is to him is just guilting her into it taking her choice away. Without that speech or being able to feel their feelings she would have said no. Also it makes the male MCs hypocritical about how they are so protective about other people seeing her but don't care about a ton of people watching them have sex later??? All Praxians should not care if their mate is seen naked anytime if they have a culture that want others to watch them have sex. They get jealous even when others stare at her with cloths on......
