About this listen

I believe in love. It just doesn’t believe in me. I date. I’m all for giving guys a chance. I’ve just never met the one. Until on a spring morning in the English countryside, a tall, dark stranger emerges from the mist.

Logan Steele is all tousled hair, hard chest, and lips so perfect I want to reach out and touch them, just to check they’re real. I’m sure that’s a thunderclap of chemistry I feel between us. Did I mention he’s an Earl with a self-made fortune? A billionaire who works tirelessly for charity? And he’s so hot, watching him is like staring at the sun. But like I said, love isn’t rooting for me.

When I find out Logan Steele is out to destroy everything I’ve dedicated my life to protect, the chemistry disappears and the hope that had blossomed my chest turns to rage. It no longer matters that he quickens my pulse just saying my name, weakens my knees with a single touch, and that he might just be the greatest kisser that ever lived. I might believe in love, but Logan Steele is definitely not the one.

A stand-alone romance.

Superb!

One of my favourite Louise Bay books, and her most recent release. I would like to commend Imogen Church, a new to me narrator, who did an outstanding job in portraying our heroine, Darcy. And Shane East, as usual, was engrossing. The story is a enemies to lovers trope. Ms. Bay is at her best in showing us what the characters are feeling, and when Darcy and Logan separate, the heartbreak you feel as a listener is almost unbearable, but brilliantly written. We see two flawed human beings, each in their own way stubborn because of their childhoods and past, but in the falling in love process, we learn about vulnerability and acceptance. A truly superb novel. Worth a full credit on #Audible1.

Whingy woman’s voice

I have loved every other story in the series but had a really hard time with the woman narrator. I found her whingy and whiney. It was hard to get past. I really took away from the main character, Darcy. Who seemed so strong and sure in her brief appearances in other novels.

As one reviewer wrote “cringe worthy performance” about sums it up for me too

Perfection ❤️

I loved that Darcy got her own story. She went through some bumps along the way but what an enjoyable ride. Logan was such a great man for her. He had his own struggles as well but the love they share is so fantastic to see.
The narration was on point and gave me all the feels.
Louise Bay never disappoints!

They saved the best for last

The narration was delightful, and the story even more so. I loved this book, it was the perfect ending to the series.

An 85 year old Darcy

Loved the series till this book. Surprised to hear how Darcy was written so whiny. In all other books she seemed like a very different character. It could be that narrator Imogen ruined it. The choices she made to differentiate the characters and the inflections in her read are distracting and irritating. Imogen was a terrible choice for Darcy in general? Her voice aged Darcy to be 80 years old.

Warning…..

I like Louise Bay, and I enjoyed the rest of the series. Shane East is always enjoyable to listen to, but the female narrator Imogen Church was not my favorite. Another reviewer called her “cringe worthy “This about describes it for me. It took away from the story for me. It made the characters seem annoying. Too bad. But I wanted to complete the series. Hope this helps someone else out.

Just could get through it unfortunately.

This entire series is wonderful, and Shane East is fantastic as usual. Unfortunately the pairing with Imogen Church reminded me of Emma Thompson narrating Fifty Shades. LOL. Im sorry but thats the only way I can describe it *face palm*. She actually has a lovely pace of reading, but this just wasnt the right story. Couldnt get through it but Ill go look for the ebook because I want to finish the story.

Good enjoyable story

Not a big fan of the female narrator.. how be it, It my first time listening to her. Felt the “Britishness “ was overplayed.
