About this listen
Cassidy Johns is a 22-year-old college student who led a mostly sheltered life. She was raised by her grandparents and often felt self-conscious about her weight. Dedication to her studies and her passion for anthropology got her a scholarship to a prestigious program at Elton College, but a new-found passion for partying and sorority life might just be the end of all of that. With only one semester left to make up her grades and graduate, Cassidy takes a research assistant position with the renowned anthropologist and extremely attractive Dr. Trent Holmes. Dr. Holmes’ looks are overshadowed only by his attitude. He seems to take everything too seriously and the idea of working with him has Cassidy conflicted. On the one hand, he’s hot and she’ll be the envy of every woman on campus. On the other hand, he’s rude and insufferable, and his main rule for working with her is that she gives up her partying ways.
Cassidy has no choice but to accept the research job and she and Dr. Holmes dive into a paper he’s working on that will shake up the entire field of anthropology. Just as Cassidy is once again questioning whether her sacrifices will be worth it, Dr. Holmes reveals that he’s attracted to her, too. Cassidy agrees to give herself to him completely, but when people start showing up at his apartment demanding money and someone seems to be trying to get their hands on the paper Trent has been working on, Cassidy is forced to wonder if perhaps she allowed things to move too quickly with Trent. She must now ask herself: Will I get out of this alive?
