Albert Figueras (also known as "Pop Negre") was born in Barcelona (1961). He is a medical doctor and clinical pharmacologist interested in the promotion of the prudent use of medicines. He has published scientific assays, short stories and novels originally written in Catalan, Spanish or English. As a fiction writter, he has been awarded with different prizes such as "Just M. Casero" (1997), "Recull-Francesc Puig i Llensa" (1998) and "Premio a la Divulgación Científica Periodística del Instituto Danone" (2013), among others. Some of his books have been translated into Portuguese.
