Amy Hallberg is the author of Tiny Altars: A Midlife Revival and the IPPY award-winning German Awakening: Tales from an American Life. She is a story coach, book writing mentor, and the host of Courageous Wordsmith podcast. As a teen, Amy was an exchange student in West Germany, where she stood on both sides of the Berlin Wall before it fell. She went on to build a career as a longtime German teacher. Amy holds certificates from the Loft Literary Center (Foreword Apprenticeship in creative nonfiction), the University of Chicago (editing & German to English translation), and Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach & Master Coach Training. She is a graduate of Carleton College. As the founder of Courageous Wordsmith Community, Amy guides writers through their narrative journeys—from inklings to beautiful works. A lifelong Minnesotan and mother of grown twins, Amy lives in the Twin Cities with her husband and two cats.
