Amy Carpenter is the author of the Be Strong, Be Wise series, and the founder of the Be Strong, Be Wise sexual safety education program. A psychotherapist, parenting coach and youth advocate, Amy is a featured author on Medium and has written articles for PsychCentral, Raising Teens Today, Parenting Teens and Tweens, and the Asana International Yoga Journal. Swimming Solo is her third published book. In 2018, Amy was named the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance Ilgenfritz Scholar for writers of non-fiction. She lives in Rockport, Maine, with her husband and daughter.
