Amy Shannon is an American Storyteller, living in upstate New York, where she grew up. She shares the stories in her head by putting them on paper (virtual or real), and most of her stories focus on the strength of women. In 2004, Amy was a cancer survivor. In 2005, she survived a domestic violence assault, which resulted in her spouse going to prison, and lifelong migraine headaches. Amy Shannon suffers from chronic daily migraines from her domestic violence assault. Amy has four sons, who are very supportive of their family, and her passion. Amy went back to school in 2011, and since then has received her bachelor’s in English, master’s in Adult Education, and master’s in business administration. Amy Shannon also has a book review blog called “Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews” where she reviews books of almost any genre, and any type of author, especially Indie or self-published authors. Amy Shannon suffers from a Functional Brain disorder that mimics Dementia, and Parkinson's disease. Since it affects her hands and legs the most, she is no longer going to be writing full-length novels. She also has Rheumatoid Arthritis in her hands. She's determined to keep going, even though her legs fail her and she falls a lot. She will, however, write poetry or short stories, as her hands will allow her. Amy's favorite causes are reading "banned, burned, or challenged books" and then reviewing them, a supporter of literacy. She is also a supporter of survivors of domestic violence. Her book, Balls-Town: A Community of History, Friends, Neighbors, and Lingering Spirits is her first nonfiction historical book about the history of her hometown in upstate New York. It's due for release in March 2024. Need a book review? Amy is a literary consultant, in order to help authors through their processes ... It's all here.
