Amy Westervelt is an award-winning print and radio journalist who writes about health, women, and the environment for a wide range of publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Popular Science, and more. She has worked as a contributing reporter for various NPR member stations (KUNR, Capital Public Radio, and KQED), and contributes regularly to The California Report. In 2007 she was awarded a Folio award for feature-writing; in 2015 she received a Rachel Carson Award for her work reporting on climate science; and in 2016 she received a Murrow Award for best local news series for her work on the impact of the Tesla Giga Factory on northern Nevada. In 2018, Amy co-founded the podcast network Critical Frequency with fellow journalist Maya Francis, producing and hosting several podcasts, including Tell Me About Your Mother.
