Andrew started 50 Ways to Succeed at Work as a weekly podcast. It is aimed at those who have worked for a few years and those heading for their first job. The diverse range of topics includes being a storyteller, being a lively listener, playing big, dealing with a toxic colleague, and many others that are seldom mentioned during an induction or career counselling. All the leading platforms, including Apple, Spotify, and Google, distribute his regular podcasts. There is also a dedicated website at https://www.50Ways.site. Andrew is the author of over 20 books on management. Many, such as Leading the Way, and Charisma, have been translated worldwide. For example, his Charisma book is now available in over 17 languages. His long-running Essentials of Management was shortlisted for the Book of the Year award by the Chartered Institute of Management. Originally trained as an economist, Andrew has an MA in Human Resources and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He started his working career in marketing, later joining The Observer newspaper as a business feature writer, including his regular careers column, You and Your Job. Later, his column on social services provided a natural move into local government, where he established and managed a significant research and development unit in a London local authority. As an assistant director of social work, Andrew led a diverse range of teams, setting up and managing a substantial adult service division with over 1,000 staff and numerous residential homes and day centres. Andrew is also a co-founder of Maynard Leigh Associates, a leading UK development company whose mission is to inspire greater impact. Based on his earlier work experience, Andrew wanted to help clients achieve effective change at the individual, team, and corporate levels. The company's clients include Aviva, Barclaycard, DHL, KPMG, Ernst and Young, and Visa.
