Anne Cushman is a leading national pioneer in the integration of mindfulness, creativity, and yoga. Her books include the memoir The Mama Sutra; the novel Enlightenment for Idiots; the mindful yoga book Moving Into Meditation; and the India travel guide From Here to Nirvana. Her essays on spiritual practice in daily life have been featured in the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, O: The Oprah Magazine, Yoga Journal, Lion's Roar, Tricycle: The Buddhist Review, Perceptive Traveler, and many other publications. A member of the Teachers' Council at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, she mentors meditation students and writers worldwide and leads regular meditation retreats with a focus on creativity, embodiment, and daily life practice.
