Born & raised in Detroit, Michigan, Ashley Joi is a product of a musical family. She grew up enamored with her mothers singing career with the group Brandye, who performed on over 4,000 records, earning her 16 gold & platinum albums. Ashley’s father managed Brandye and for Ashley, the only thing more captivating than the music was the business. It wasn’t long before Ashley began writing music & landed a record deal. She co-wrote & was featured on songs with well known artists. It was this exposure that led her to meet her future husband, music legend, PooBear. Ashley has co-written several songs with PooBear, including Justin Bieber’s “Yummy” which resulted in her first Grammy nomination. Ashley currently owns a music publishing company & has earned a few platinum records of her own. She loves being in the business of music. Currently residing in Miami, Ashley is a hands on mom to 2 amazing children, ages 4 and 6. When she has a moment to spare, you can find her practicing yoga, playing tennis or in the kitchen cooking with love. Ashley knows that if you can envision it, you can have it. Ashley recently released a book entitled, Financially Fly: Mastering Money & Wealth for Women, which focuses on financial literacy for women. She hopes to be a source of inspiration for those dedicated to living their best life!
