Barbara Morrison, who writes under the name B. Morrison, is the author of the award-winning memoir, Innocent: Confessions of a Welfare Mother. Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said of Innocent: “I am grateful to you for sharing your personal story and demonstrating the positive impact that social assistance programs make upon families, communities, and our country. Yours is a vital story to tell.” Barbara is also the author of two poetry collection,Terrarium and Here at Least. Barbara has won multiple awards, been invited to speak as a featured author, and been published in magazines such as The Sun, Sin Fronteras, Scribble, and Tiny Lights. She conducts writing workshops and speaks on women’s and poverty-related issues. She is also the owner of a small press and provides editing services.
