Becca is a freelance journalist and author, specialising in consumer technology, popular science and the future. Her first book, Screen Time, was released by Bonnier Books in January 2021. It's about how to find a better balance with the tech you use everyday – your 'techquilibrium'. It's an anti-digital detox book for everyone who loves their devices and hates their devices and loves to hate their devices – which is everyone, right? She mostly writes about technology in relation to behaviour, culture and ethics, asking questions like: why do we need to give robots eyes? Should we upload our brains to a computer? How can we give non-astronauts the mind-altering experience of seeing our home planet from space? And how do we solve problems of motion sickness, violence and privacy in VR? Over the past ten years Becca has written for a wide range of titles, like Metro, OneZero, Inverse, The Observer, Wired UK, Stuff, New Scientist, Gizmodo UK, T3, How it Works, All About Space, MSN, ShinyShiny, Lifehacker, Gadget, Wareable, TechRadar, BitchBuzz and many others. As well as an endless fascination with science, space and technology, she also loves science-fiction and floating around the cosmos in VR.
