I'm an audiobook producer, actor, author, director, and producer. Typically I work with authors and small publishers who have books they really care about but struggle to reach their widest audience. Through audiobook production and marketing, we help authors reach a more of their audience and have a greater impact. As an actor, I toured stages internationally with Chaucer Theatre and served as its Executive Director 1997-2013. After receiving my MFA in Acting from University of Illinois in 1981, I began narrating Talking Books for the Blind for Library of Congress, narrating over 70 titles in two years before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. I now narrate and/or produce audiobooks full time and have a terrific team working with me to help our clients bring their books alive through audio. I grew up in NJ, the youngest of four kids, in a very literate family. I decided before I'd started school that I wanted to be a writer, and wrote my first 'book', "A Man Called Joe" in orange pencil on small pages of a notepad. I wrote my first chapter book while in third grade, and it was the subject of a painful lesson later about not lending the ONLY copy of something, for my seventh grade English teacher lost it. My first play was written as a way to heal one year after my sister passed on, an event that wrenched our family apart. Parenting and teaching stimulated the creation of a handful of kids books, only 2 of which are published to date. My first solo-performance that I also wrote premiered in April 2011; it's autobiographical, with a focus on the journey I had with my mom from my birth to her passing - a journey that included a lot of healing and that audiences find very uplifting: Joy with Wings: A Daugher's Tale. At Pro Audio Voices we are Helping Great Stories Come Alive - changing the world one story at a time! www.proaudiovoices.com We'd love to hear from you!
