Dear Athlete, I’m glad you’re here. My name is Bethany–coach, author, sometimes-athlete, twin mom, and enthusiast of doing. I didn’t start in triathlon as an endurance athlete. I knew next-to-nothing about endurance sports. I thought triathlon was for uber-athletes, former Division I swimmers, and people who had life figured out. Triathlon for beginners was confusing. And intimidating! But in my dozen years of coaching and racing around the world, I’ve learned two things. - Training for your first race doesn’t have to be complicated. - Training and racing can change your life in greater ways than sore legs and a cheap medal. After getting so much out of the sport, I've compiled tips, tricks, and lessons along with the inspiration I wish I had when getting started. The result is Courage to Tri, your triathlon beginners roadmap to dreaming, planning, then crossing your first finish line. Share your success stories and talk training with me: IG: bethanylrutledg tag #tricourage for reposts Twitter: bethanylrutledg Facebook: https://facebook.com/bethanyrutledge Blog: https:bethanyrutledge.com *Fancy Bio* Bethany Rutledge, author of Courage to Tri, has contributed to triathlon and endurance sports publications such as Triathlete Magazine, Women’s Running, IRONMAN, TrainingPeaks, and more. Once an unlikely endurance athlete, she and husband John are co-owners of Atlanta Triathlon Club, a large triathlon community in Atlanta, GA and Energy Lab, a unique cycling and coaching studio. Throughout her career as a coach, Rutledge has worked with hundreds of athletes, each with their own inspirational story. A two-time Kona qualifier, Bethany’s personal racing goals vary from conquering the world to making it around the neighborhood with the dog and double stroller.
