A former senior editor at Outside magazine and former contributing editor to George and Outside, Brad Wetzler is an author, journalist, book editor, book writing coach, and yoga teacher. He is the author of the forthcoming memoir Into the Soul of the World (2023) and Real Mosquitoes Don't Eat Meat (2005). As an editor, Wetzler worked with some of the nation's finest journalists and nonfiction writers. He came up with the idea to send Jon Krakauer to Mount Everest. Along with Outside's editor, Mark Bryant, Wetzler shepherded "Into Thin Air" through Outside's editorial process. Krakauer, who ended up deciding of his own will to climb to the summit, later published a nonfiction/memoir with the same title. As a journalist, Wetzler writes about a wide range of subjects, including politics, science, spirituality, religion, exploration, travel, yoga, and sports. His articles have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The New York Times Book Review, GQ, Wired, Newsweek, Men's Journal, Outside, National Geographic, Yoga Journal, Travel + Leisure, Golf Digest, and George. His writing has been anthologized in Best American Travel Writing and Outside 25: The Best of Outside Magazine's First 25 Years. Brad's work as a journalist has taken him to dozens of countries--to Amazonian jungles, Greenland's melting ice cap, the high-tech industrial parks of India, the Indonesian archipelago, and Star City, Russia's center for space travel. He lives in Austin, Texas, where he writes, teaches writing, and teaches yoga. You can read more about Brad Wetzler at his website: https://bradwetzler.com
