Prior to opening my own firm in October 2012, I was an SVP in Corporate & Government Affairs at Kraft Foods and President of the Kraft Foods Foundation. During my 7 years with Kraft, I was a key advisor to Chairman and CEO, Irene Rosenfeld, leading Kraft’s corporate communications, global community involvement and global public policy/government affairs. From multi-billion dollar deals - including the Cadbury acquisition - to spearheading Kraft Foods’ first ever global week of service, I used the disciplines of Corporate and Government Affairs to drive the company’s agenda, internally and externally, around the world. As recognition of my work, in 2012 alone, I was fortunate to receive the Sabre Award for “Outstanding Individual Lifetime Achievement” and be voted one of the most important in-house communicators in the world. I started my career on the agency side, spending nearly 15 years with leading communications firms including Shandwick and Burson-Marsteller. In 2000, I moved “in-house” as a Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Unilever in North America. There, in addition to Corporate Affairs, I also served on the HPC-NA management board and the Board of the Unilever US Foundation. My Corporate & Government Affairs expertise is further enhanced by my broad experience in international business. For most of the 1990s, I lived and worked overseas – based first in Singapore, then Russia and finally the UK. In my various roles, I have served not only as a senior counselor but also as a General Manager. In addition to my broad business background, in 2005, I was an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University, where I taught courses on globalization, ethics and diversity. In 2007, I co-authored the award winning book Get Ahead by Going Abroad. And today, I am a blogger for The Huffington Post, a member of both the Advisory Board for the Clinton Global Initiative and the Corporate Partnership Council for Save the Children. I am also a former member of the National Board of the Girl Scouts of the USA and I remain an active advocate for women and girls around the world.
