Who do you turn to for advice on real estate investment? A financial planner who literally learned about real estate on his father’s knee. Carlos A. Rodrigues, the founder and CEO of Magellan Wealth Management Inc., got his passion for helping investors get started in property from his father who was a successful realtor in Hamilton, ON, for many years. Carlos’s entrepreneurial streak became apparent early on: his first company, a family-owned specialty food business that he set up while in his college years, is still going strong. In 2003, Carlos became a Financial Planner. Nominated for Best Financial Planner in three consecutive years, Carlos worked for one of Canada’s largest financial institutions for ten years, until his growing frustration at not being allowed to discuss true wealth-creation strategies (like real estate) with his clients finally forced him to strike out on his own and create his own brokerage, Magellan Wealth Management Inc. When he’s not helping his clients and joint venture partners build massive wealth through real estate investment Carlos spends his time enjoying all things Portuguese (especially the food!) and is an avid sci-fi buff. He lives in Hamilton, ON, with his wife and business partner, Sharon, and their two children, Allegra and Armando.
