Writing, I tell everyone, is how I avoided having to pay for therapy. It’s true. I’ve always written to express myself, but it was only about 10 years ago that I turned to it to help me work through challenges I was facing that made it difficult for me to focus, plan for, and enjoy my life. It all began with a blog. I didn’t write it for anyone but myself. But after a while others began reading and responding to it, and let me know that what I’d written had taught them something, reminded them of something they’d forgotten, helped them see a situation in a different light, or just resonated with them in ways that helped them get through hardship or uncertainty. No one was more surprised than me. I turned those blogs into a book based on the interest my readers expressed, and kept writing. I produced a second book. And now, I’ve produced a third volume that concludes a nearly 10-year journey, and opened the door to what will come next. With every volume, I shared insights, things I’ve learned, losses endured, difficulty faced, and, ultimately, how I lived with and through it all. I call it PooleProof Wisdom. Faith is the foundation on which every book has been built. I write from experience, and my experiences to date have taught me that life is a gift, hope is a blessing, and gratitude is essential to personal growth. So I share it all. Every up, down, and in-between. My goal is simple: If even one person takes something from my words that helps them improve their life, well, I’ve served my purpose. That is why I write.
