Christine H. Bailey writes young adult fiction and also teaches college writing courses. Before teaching English, Bailey worked as a journalist, a marketing/public relations writer, and a freelance editor. Bailey's debut novel, Girl in the Middle, takes a look at the aftermath of a family crisis and what happens to a family when a child goes missing. The book also touches on the hierarchical nature of high school. Both this work and her latest YA novel, Waking Under Water, address the sensitive issue of bullying, a topic she feels strongly about. The native Canadian now resides in Tennessee.
