Christopher B. Hays is D. Wilson Moore Professor of Old Testament and Ancient Near Eastern Studies and chair of the Bible faculty at Fuller Theological Seminary. He has also served as a regional President of the Society of Biblical Literature, and as Annual Professor at the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem. He is the author of eight books and dozens of scholarly articles, and is a founding co-editor for the Cambridge University Press series Elements of the Ancient Near Eastern World and the Bible. Hays holds a PhD in Religion from Emory University, an MA in Egyptology from UCLA, and an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has participated in archaeological research in Israel and leads travel courses there. His languages include Hebrew, Akkadian, Ugaritic, Aramaic, Middle Egyptian, Greek, and Latin. Hays is ordained in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and is a Research Associate of the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
