Born and raised just outside of Asbury Park, New Jersey, Dan Harary is a man of many talents. While best known for his 40-plus years of work in Hollywood as an Entertainment Industry Publicist and owner of the boutique Asbury PR Agency in Beverly Hills (www.asburypr.com) Dan is also the author of four books: FLIRTING WITH FAME, AFTER THEY CAME, CARROTS and MY PARANORMAL LIFE: SUPERNATURAL STORIES FROM A HOLLYWOOD INSIDER. In addition, he was a professional drummer as a youngster, and performed stand-up comedy at LA’s top comedy houses during the late ‘90s/early 2000’s. See: www.danhararyauthor.com Dan's most current book is AFTER THEY CAME, the story of Benevolent Aliens who come to Earth to rescue a drowning man while concurrently saving all of mankind. Dan is a longtime UFO Researcher and experienced three UFO sightings during his life, the first, with his father in 1970, remaining highly memorable. He is a longtime member of the MUFON/Los Angeles organization. ADVANCE PRAISE FOR AFTER THEY CAME FROM MAJOR UFO RESEARCHERS - 2023: “Dan Harary’s book After They Came is an entertaining and upbeat work of sci-fi that cleverly incorporates key parts of the UFO phenomenon's lore and backstory - a delightful tale of wonder and hope.” - Nick Pope, UFO Expert, Contributor to “Ancient Aliens” TV series; UK Ministry of Defence, Ret. "After They Came is a captivating novel of benevolent alien contact, incorporating author Dan Harary's vision of how to solve humanity’s most intractable problems in order to create a world of abundance and peace. While exploring the impact of alien contact on the people of Earth, Harary, a skilled writer, offers-up a thought-provoking example of identifying just what, in his judgment, really needs fixing." - Richard Dolan, Author of A.D., After Disclosure: When the Government Finally Reveals the Truth about UFOs “Dan Harary’s brilliant work of fiction in After They Came transports readers on a fascinating journey into the not-so-distant future, through the eyes of Jon Tuckerman, a man who is rescued from his fast track to self-annihilation. Thanks to a giant airship carrying highly advanced extraterrestrials, Jon’s misadventure propels him and humanity to previously unimaginable heights and presents new, inconceivable challenges. If you are looking for an uplifting page turner, go no further.” - Kathleen Marden, Bestselling Author of Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience “As a key witness myself to the awe-inspiring and non-threatening ‘Phoenix Lights’ mass UFO events in 1997, I feel that author Dan Harary's After They Came offers a welcomed and novel approach to an often much maligned topic. His book presents a fictional odyssey of one man's intimate connection to benevolent beings who gift him and humanity with a stellar ‘Wish List’ by which to help save our world in crisis. Along the way, Harary concurrently gifts the reader with information about ancient artifacts located around the globe, long-held lore about the alien/UFO phenomenon, and even historical UFO data.” - Lynne D, Kitei, M.D./Author/Award-Winning Filmmaker, Phoenix Lights Network “As the discussion about ‘UFO Disclosure’ continues, Dan Harary, in the meantime, has written a unique and new concept of how mankind may finally learn that we are not alone. After They Came tells a gripping story with suspense and empathy that is obviously well-researched. According to Harary’s story, we may now have another scenario of what is possible ‘After They Do Come!’” – Chase Kloetzke, UFO investigator, Author and Radio Talk Show Host for Fate Magazine “Dan Harary’s sci-fi novel is an imaginative futuristic vision of myriad themes currently put forth by those active in the areas of UFOs and alien visitation, not all of which are compatible with my own experience and understanding of this important topic, but as written would also be best understood by those familiar with the lore of the genre. The style of the images in After They Came are presented in such a graphic visual style that, with the inclusion of more of the background and historical sources needed by the uninitiated, it could serve as the basis of an entertaining film adaptation.” - Travis Walton, Real Life Alien Abductee & Inspiration for the 1993 Film “Fire in the Sky” **** About Dan Harary: Between 1972-74, Dan, ages 15/16/17 at that time, was the Stage Manager and the Lighting Director for the Sunshine Inn rock concert venue in Asbury Park – Bruce Springsteen often played there early in his career. Dan went on to attend Boston University’s School of Public Communications (concurrent with Howard Stern’s attendance.) After working briefly in Manhattan during 1980 at Columbia Pictures, Dan relocated to Los Angeles in the fall of that year, struggling for several months before securing a foothold within the entertainment industry. Dan’s earliest jobs in Southern California (1982-1996) included stints as: the Director of Campus Information for the American Film Institute; the very first in-house Publicist for The Playboy Channel; Senior Publicist for Columbia Pictures Television; and Senior Publicist and Vice President for two of Hollywood’s most powerful entertainment PR firms: Solters/Roskin/Friedman and The Lippin Group. Branching out on his own just after his 40th birthday, Dan launched the highly regarded, boutique Asbury PR Agency on October 1, 1996. His agency specializes in the representation of clients and individuals working across all areas of the entertainment and leisure industries. Among the highlights of the Asbury Agency’s work during the past 25 years: Handling the press coverage for the 100th Anniversaries of two of Los Angeles' most iconic Hollywood restaurants Musso & Frank Grill and EL CHOLO. Dan also was in charge of handling Public Relations for SIGGRAPH, the world’s largest international Computer Graphics Conference; handling the public relations and promotion for the grand opening of the $3.2 billion Studio City Hotel & Resort in Macau, China (U.S. press); launching the Hollywood Film Festival; handling the debut performance of Japan’s #1 Singing Group in the U.S.; producing a Special Press Event honoring the rock band KISS; announcing a proposed sequel to the film classic “It’s A Wonderful Life”- briefly making the project the # 1 entertainment story in the world; representing two Academy Award-winning clients: Makeup Artists Robert Short (“Beetlejuice,”) and Barney Burman (“Star Trek,”) along with three time Emmy Award winning Special Makeup FX legend Todd Masters; and representing the 24th Annual Animé Expo, which drew 100,000 attendees to the LA Convention Center. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications, 1978, having graduated Cum Laude from Boston University. At BU, he studied TV production, advertising, marketing and journalism – and, ironically, every type of communications EXCEPT public relations! Dan has been a Guest Speaker and Panelist across LA on the topic of entertainment public relations, appearing at events presented by UCLA, the Publicist’s Guild, Loyola Marymount University, Promax/BDA, and the Entertainment Publicists Professional Society. Articles about him have appeared in Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, TV Week, the LA Times, the Los Angeles Business Journal, the Asbury Park Press, SHOOT Magazine and the Beverly Hills Courier. He has also appeared on “Entertainment Tonight,” CNN, KABC-TV News, KNBC-TV News, and KFI Radio. The father of two adult children, Dan lives in Beverly Hills, CA.
