Dan Morrison's writing on science, culture and conflict has appeared in pubiclations including The New York Times, National Geographic and Artforum. His new book, THE PRINCE AND THE POISONER (UK) or THE POISONER OF BENGAL (India), the true story of a murder-by-plague in Jazz Age Calcutta, was praised as "that rare success: a work of historical nonfiction that reads like a thriller" and "a true tale that's as compelling as any fictional murder mystery." Morrison's recent work examines collisions of medicine, commerce and crime in the early 20th century. His reporting has been recognized by organizations including the Association of British Science Writers, the New York Press Club, and the South Asian Journalists Association. Dan is also author of THE BLACK NILE, an account of his journey down the Nile River through Uganda, Sudan and Egypt. The Daily Beast called THE BLACK NILE a "masterful narrative of investigative reportage, travel writing, and contemporary history," while author David Grann said it was "a supremely entertaining work, and also an important one."
