Darline Amos-McElroy never looked for trouble. So how did this Mississippi girl find herself speaking against injustices in a large Texas school district? From a seasoned educator to a provoked justice fighter, Darline sounded the alarm. She didn’t know her own strength. In her debut memoir, I Ate the Cake: A Journey for Justice, Darline also detailed the pains and joys of walking with Christ. If anyone thinks the Christian life is quiet and boring, Darline debunked the myth. Darline’s storytelling intertwined Biblical recounts encourage readers that Kingdom living is necessary and purposeful. The author didn’t evade from including her own struggles in taming her tongue and withholding physical aggressions. Currently, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, Darline continues to educate and uplift others. She is determined to use her experiences and Kingdom principles to fight against workplace injustices and protect most vulnerable populations, our children.
