Debbie Reed is President/CEO of the Chaddock family of organizations, which offers a range of attachment and trauma focused residential, educational and community-based services for youth, birth through age 21, and their families. Chaddock organizations also provide training and consultation for human service, educational and nonprofit professionals, and operational support for behavioral health organizations. Debbie guided the development of an innovative residential program for adolescents, ages 6 – 16, with attachment disorders and complex trauma. One of the only programs of its kind serving older adolescents, Chaddock’s Developmental Trauma and Attachment Program® (DTAP®) has served youth from 33 states in the U.S. and from from 18 different countries of origin. Debbie developed, and for more than 15 years has facilitated, a Nonprofit Leadership Academy, and is also a frequent conference presenter on topics including nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, and innovation. Debbie also writes a weekly leadership blog, Reed About Leadership. Her first book, Attachment Theory in Action, co-edited with Karen Buckwalter was released in 2018. Her second book, Raising the Challenging Child: How to minimize meltdowns, Reduce Conflict and Increase Cooperation, written with Karen Buckwalter and Wendy Lyons Sunshine, will release in January 2020. Debbie has more than 30 years of marketing, strategic planning and organizational leadership experience. For the past 25 years, she has been with Chaddock, serving as President/CEO of the agency since 2006. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Drake University, a Master of Arts degree in Leadership from Bellevue University, and is completing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Concordia University, researching aspects of strategic leadership that are unique to nonprofit organizations.
