I love reading biography and history books. I recently retired after 35 years in government service in California, Washington, D.C. and the US Embassy in Rabat, Morocco so now I have the time to research and write books. During my years of service I was dismayed reading about people who compromised their values to get ahead and determined to write about Americans who paid the price to maintain their integrity and high standards. My new book “The High Ground: Why Civic Virtue Matters to America” profiles the virtues of our American Founders of the 18th century and teaches lessons for us today in the 21st century. I plan to write additional books about Americans who kept the high ground from the 19th and 20th centuries. I love America and look forward to sharing additional inspiring examples of Americans who stand on the high ground. I live in California with my wife Nadine and I enjoy writing, reading, running, traveling and spending time with my family.
