Derek Lin is the author of The Tao of Daily Life, The Tao of Success, The Tao of Joy Every Day, The Tao of Happiness, The Tao of Wisdom, and The Tao of Tranquility. He is the winner of multiple awards, and his books have been translated into seven languages worldwide. Prior to becoming an author, he spent decades learning ancient classics from multiple teacher in the Tao tradition. His deep expertise with classical Chinese, history, philosophy and linguistic evolution, plus his native fluency with Mandarin and English, let him create accurate translations, and convey Eastern teachings to Western readers in a way that is clear, simple and authentic. He is an active speaker and educator on the Tao Te Ching and the Tao in general. Previously, he taught walk-in classes on Tao philosophy for two decades. Today, he continues teaching virtual classes, free to the public, through video conferencing.
