Doug Snelson is an award-winning author, literacy champion, and critically acclaimed poet. "Pickleball Poetry: Fun and Whimsical Verses to Dink About" was just released. The book celebrates the people who play America's fastest-growing sport. An original illustration accompanies each of the 32 poems. The essence of the game is captured with a sense of humor and compassion using couplets and iambic meters to create a fun, amusing, and entertaining book. With writings spanning over five decades, Doug shares a selection of verses reflecting his unique poetic perspective on the special and everyday events of his life in “Laughter Includes the Word: Revealed, A Life of Poetry.” Included in the collection are copies of original handwritten drafts as well as original typewritten drafts from his Olivetti-Underwood typewriter. Each poem is accompanied by a brief commentary about the circumstances of its composition and the year it was written. Doug's children's books are gentle, fun, colorful, and inspiring rhyming stories and poems for reading time, nap-time, and bedtime. Doug’s goal is to express universal themes providing positive messages and reading experiences for children and adults. His books are interactive, and educational for children and adults.
