Dr. Hershey strives to be a "good troublemaker" on matters related to personal and corporate social responsibility (CSR) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. He has a passion and commitment to social, economic, environmental, racial, and restorative justice issues. He is a native of North Carolina, and his public service includes foreign and diplomatic assignments and decorated military experience. He received a Cornell University certification in Diversity and Inclusion and was selected to be a Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government Senior Executive Fellow. As a committed Education and Human Rights advocate, a few of his five published books include – A New Passage to Modern India: The Struggle for Universal Human Rights in India vis-à-vis its Transformational Economic Growth; The Art of Peace; and, The Vision to Serve: Cultivating a Legacy of Public Service, a public management and leadership book to inspire those seeking careers in public service. Dr. Hershey attended an HBCU, North Carolina Central University, and he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Saint Thomas University with a Doctorate in Education. He lives in Georgetown, Washington DC, with his wife, Sarah Jane Forman, their children, and cat (Shanny).
