Eileen Bailey is a freelance writer, specializing in writing about ADHD, Anxiety, Learning Disabilities and other health topics. She is the author of "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Adult ADHD."
Eileen Bailey began her quest for information on ADHD fourteen years ago, when her son, then age 10, was diagnosed. At the time, Eileen had little knowledge of this condition, other than what she had seen on television. But reading about the disorder helped Eileen to understand and help her son through school. He has since graduated from high school and is looking into a career as a tattoo artist.
Although there were books available on ADHD, Eileen sought out support groups to help provide her with information on how other parents were coping with the daily struggles. Not finding any support groups close to her home, she and her husband developed a website, ADDHelpline, as an online support for parents raising children with ADHD. Eileen wrote articles to provide information and monitored the chat and forum. Within months, they were receiving visitors from around the world, all sharing the same concerns and questions. Both giving and receiving support helped Eileen tremendously.
In 2001, Eileen accepted a position at About.com and began writing for their site on ADHD. Over the years, Eileen has written hundreds of articles on all aspects of living with ADHD. She has been a guest on several radio shows, and her articles have appeared on many websites as well as in local magazines.
In order to further understand and help individuals with ADHD, Eileen became a Life Strategies Coach and most often works to help parents with the daily difficulties of living with and raising children with ADHD.
